RELEASE Likewise, ANEIMO will promote the use of Autocontrol arbitrage services in potential conflicts that may affect the execution of MR contracts. Lluís Fatjó-Vilas, President of ANEIMO (National Association of Market Research and Opinion Poll agencies) and Juan Astorqui, President of Autocontrol in Advertising, have recently signed an agreement which establishes the use of a Complaints Committee at Autocontrol to handle all potential allegations made against ANEIMO members and other agencies whose activity is regulated by international codes of professional conduct. These codes of conduct establish the basic principles which oversee the relationship between MR agencies, clients and respondents participating in any kind of MR survey. All ANEIMO agencies must adhere to the ICC/ESOMAR International Code of Marketing and Social Research Practice developed by the International Chamber of Commerce and ESOMAR. Any complaint filed by any company, institution, entity or organization will be handled by Autocontrol. This initiative shows the commitment of all MR agencies to guarantee the rigor and compliance with all ethical codes and professional standards in market research to society. In order to achieve this, regulations and mechanisms to solve potential conflicts have been established. At the same time, ANEIMO agencies have agreed to promote the Autocontrol arbitrage system as a useful conflict-resolution mechanism among market research and clients. This arbitrage system will allow users to handle and solve potential conflicts in an efficient, equitable and fast manner and at a lower cost compared to traditional legal procedures. This agreement signed by ANEIMO is in line with the collaboration with AEDEMO - the Spanish association of MR agencies and professionals - whose members also adhere to the professional codes stipulated by this agreement. They both share a similar goal: to promote ethical and professional codes among MR agencies and guarantee their compliance for the benefit of MR clients and the sector's reputation. Autocontrol was created in 1995 by advertisers, new media organizations, advertising agencies and trade associations to provide self-regulation tools and mechanisms in the advertising sector. AUTOCONTROL offers an extra-judicial system to handle any potential complaints in the area of advertising. It is fully integrated in the EJE network of the European commission and it's a free service for consumers, consumer associations and public authorities. A Complaints Committee handles all complaints. This committee is an independent body made up by experts in the field and 25% of its members are appointed by the Council of Consumer Affairs. All complaints are handled and processed within 16 days. Madrid, June 2006 For more information, please contact:
